You may have noticed a design change in the eDocBuilder HTML5 Interactive Designer over the past week. This is because its a new an much improved version of our very popular designer. We continue to make major improvements to our designer and this new release is by far the largest refactoring of code so far.

Also tablet owners will be very happy to know that the eDocBuilder HTML5 Interactive Designer will now have an interface that is tailored just for their platform. We dedicated most of our time to improving the responsiveness of the designer so it would work well on less powerful tablets while at the same time integrating the current application structure into a touch based mobile familiar interface.

Here is a short list of our most notable improvement in the eDocBuilder HTML5 Interactive Desgner:

• Template optimization resulting in 50% to 100% increased load time on templates and 200% to 300% increased load time on larger templates.
• Consecutive page loading, get the first page FAST and load the rest in the background.
• A cleaner and faster user interface that doesn’t clash with current skins and uses less images for even faster loading.
• Major cross browser / platform improvements, IE8 on windows XP now runs smoothly.
• Improved zooming, not only does the zoom interface look better but with our new element priority queuing it resolves twice as fast.
• Major mobile overhaul, we rebuilt our entire mobile architecture from the ground up.

The major part of this release is a completely redesigned payment module that you can enable when you are ready.  The new payment adds Authorize.net as an option and centralizes all your available payment methods.  On a per site basis you can decide which payment methods to support.

You can define more than one instance of a payment method, using different credentials.  For example, if you have a Pressero site you manage for a broker, you could create two instances of a PayPal method; one for you and one for your broker.  In the site for the broker, you would select the PayPal instance you setup for the broker, which would result in her PayPal credentials being used.  In other sites where you deal directly with the print buyer, you would select the PayPal instance you setup for your own account.  You can setup of multiple instances of any payment method type (including Authorize.net), which results in an amazing amount of flexibility for working with different print distributors and customers.

To get started, go to the Payments tab in Preferences –> General Settings.  Click the red button to convert your Pressero account to the advanced payments method.  Next, you will see a new payments administration screen under Preferences.  Navigate to this page to start defining additional payment methods.  To enable a method on a site, to go the Payments tab in the general settings for a site.  Check off which methods to make available.  You can provide an alternate name for the method to be used on the site as well as a custom message to appear.

• Assets can now be assigned to a specific group or specific user rather than just a product or site level.  In addition, assets can now be used directly from the eDocBuilder document customization page.
• Purchase order requirements can be overridden on a per user basis.  You can still assign purchase order requirements on a site wide basis.
• New site group permission to allow group members to see all orders in their location.
• “Sharing Scripts” have been enabled on B2B sites.  This allows you to paste in a script from a 3rd party site to allow for services like online support chats.
• Added ability to override taxes on a per product level.
• For custom skin developers: new parameter in the RSS tag to control the number of characters displayed in an RSS feed
